After moving out to the suburbs I found there were a lot of aspects of home maintenance that I wasn’t prepared for. We moved from Center City, so while we took care of our small 10 foot sidewalk in the front of the house, we didn’t have nearly as many outdoor seasonal chores (or interior) to keep our curb appeal orderly. 

Here are some pointers to consider when trying to maintain your “home”. No doubt it’s daunting to purchase a house, let alone maintain it all year round. If you want to get ahead of all the functionality pieces of a home, here are a few helpful suggestions. These are by no means the rules, and I am sure that I have missed some items too. I thought it would be helpful to break them into timeframes for planning purposes.
