We have found the best way to feel a part of a new location or neighborhood is by getting involved. The more you immerse yourself into community happenings, the more you feel “at home” with your new surroundings. Whether that is volunteering for the local schools Home and School Association, being a coach for your kids (or any kids) sports teams, or joining the neighborhood association or township groups. All of these organizations are always in need of help and volunteers who want to give back! Our family loves sports…here are a handful of organizations that we have been a part of since we moved. (It took awhile for us to find these groups and I wish I would have had a nice concise grouping for each season or sport back then!)
